I have extremely oily skin that is also highly sensitive. I purchased the Proactive three piece starter kit and used it as directed. After a few weeks my skin turned very irritated and red, I was advised by their customer service department to try using the products once a day instead of twice. I did as instructed and my skin got progressively worse.
I am African American and after about 3 months of using the Proactiv solution I had quite a few very bad dark marks and discolorations on my face due to the irritation from the benzoyl peroxide in the products. Also for a product that has to be used that much it comes out to be quite expensive and was not worth it at all. The only product from the entire line that did not irritate my skin nor cause more problems was the refining mask.
Overall I would not recommend this product to people with sensitive skin at all. Not worth the money or time. After using these products it took about six months of working with a dermatologist to get it right again. |

I used proactiv, and did not have much success. My skin actually cleared better once I stopped using it and went back to Neutrogena. I didn't like the face wash. I felt I had a hard time getting the recommended amount to spread over my face. My main complaint about the products was the fact that it bleached my towels. I would wash my face at night in my sink, then go to dry my face. The next morning my colored towels would be bleached. I have never had this problem with any of the other products I have tried. |

The cleanser is a bit drying, however it did clear up my skin within a couple of weeks. The acne mask is the best product. It works well and you only have to use it when you feel a new pimple coming on |

I used Proactive Skincare for a couple of years when my acne was really bad. It did help reduce my acne and I did notice a change in my skin's clarity. However, the products did tend to dry out my skin and I needed to use a lot of moisturizer. I think this product is worth a try for anyone who is suffering with acne. |

I used to use proactive and liked it, but stopped using it because of the cost. The product also caused my skin to be very dry and was bleaching my hair along the hair line.
I would recommend proactive for bad acne, but not for managing the occasional pimple. |

I Like proactiv.It's done a pretty good job of clearing my skin.It can be a bit drying but switch to only using it once day or get a really good mostuizer.It's pricey at $40 for a months supply.The smell isn't that great but since it works who cares.See the thing with this product is that you have to keep using it.Also one other nasty thing that they don't say about proactiv:It's bleaches towels!!!
